Ingredients

  • 1 kg mutton, cut into pieces
  • 3 tbsp Aai cha Mutton Masala
  • 2 large onions, finely chopped
  • 3 tomatoes, pureed
  • 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1/2 cup yogurt
  • 1/2 cup chopped coriander leaves
  • 2-3 green chilies, slit
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 cup fried onions
  • Salt to taste
  • Water as required

Instructions

  1. 1 Clean and wash the mutton pieces. Marinate with yogurt, half of the Mutton Masala, ginger-garlic paste, and salt. Let it rest for at least 2 hours or overnight in the refrigerator.
  2. 2 Heat oil in a pressure cooker. Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
  3. 3 Add the marinated mutton and cook on high heat for 5-7 minutes until the meat is browned.
  4. 4 Add tomato puree, turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and the remaining Mutton Masala. Mix well and cook for another 5 minutes.
  5. 5 Add 2 cups of water, cover the pressure cooker, and cook for 6-7 whistles or until the mutton is tender.
  6. 6 Once the pressure releases naturally, open the cooker and check the consistency. If needed, simmer to thicken the gravy.
  7. 7 Garnish with fried onions, chopped coriander leaves, and green chilies.
  8. 8 Serve hot with naan, roti, or steamed rice.
