How to Make Paneer Manchurian at Home
Step 1: The first step is to cut the paneer into small cubes. You can use homemade paneer or bring it from the store.
Step 2: Take a bowl and add maida flour, corn flour, salt, ginger-garlic paste, and Kashmiri red chili powder (for color). Add 1/4 cup of water to a bowl to make a batter.
Step 3: Mix the batter well. The consistency of the batter should neither be too thick nor too thin. If you find the batter thick then adjust the consistency using water, if you find the batter too thin then adjust the consistency by adding some maida or corn flour.
Step 4: Time to add the Paneer cubes into the batter. Coat the paneer cubes well with the batter.
Step 5: We are deep frying paneer in this recipe, you can also shallow fry the paneer. For frying, take a Kadai (pan), add oil to it, and heat the oil.
Step 6: Once the oil is hot, add batter-coated paneer cubes into the oil. Keep the gas flame on medium for frying. Fry the paneer cubes till they turn light golden, stir them, and fry them until golden and crisp.
Step 7: Take the golden color paneer cubes from the Kadai, drain, and transfer them to a plate. Use absorbent kitchen paper to remove excess oil.
Step 8: We will prepare a small mixture in this step and this mixture will be used later in the recipe. Add 1 teaspoon corn flour (corn starch) to a small bowl and mix it with 1/2 to 3/4 cup water. Make sure there are no lumps in the mixture.
Step 9: Heat a pan on high flame with 1 tbsp oil in it. Add chopped ginger & garlic, saute them for a minute. Add chopped spring onions and saute for a minute
Step 10: Add chopped capsicum and saute for another 1 to 2 mins. Then pour 1½ tbsps soya sauce. Add tomato sauce (ketchup) and 1 teaspoon sugar.
Step 11: Time to add the corn flour mixture we have prepared in the step 8. Stir the corn flour mixture with a spoon and pour it to the pan. Mix it well.
Step 12: Check the taste of the sauce, if anything is missing from the flavour you can add it.
Step 13: Cook the sauce stirring continuously until it thickens a bit. Do not thicken it too much because the sauce thickens further after cooling.
Step 14: Let the sauce cool down a bit, then add fried paneer. Mix it well to coat the paneer with manchurian sauce. Add Spring onion greens.
